Good Services: How to design services that work – Lou Downe

A really excellent book that I really enjoyed reading. Lou Downe looks at the topic of Service Design and describes, with useful examples and case studies, 15 core principles of a good service, and how and why it should be designed using those principles.

While I found some of the ideas described familiar and I believe I already practice them, the really great thing about this book is the organisation of those principles into some coherent themes and with simple, relatable explanations of why they are good. Equally important is all the things I *didn’t* consider and now have learned or at least can think of when starting a new project. I can see this becoming a reference that I return to again and again as a really useful yardstick for my work in the future.
