Run The River 2015
A great run overall – definitely one I’d do again. Starting from City Hall the course weaved its way along the Thames back and forth over 3 of the main bridges taking in some of the major sights of London. First heading over Tower Bridge then along the bankside to Blackfriars Bridge, the run then cut across the river to take in the Globe and the Tate before jumping back over Southwark Bridge to retrace our route back to Tower Bridge and the finish line waiting over at City Hall. Given that the run was at 7pm on a Thursday night, along pretty narrow riverside walks, it did get pretty busy and down to single file and a slowed pace at points, so maybe not the run to do for a PB. It is one of the best runs for views of the city though (along with the Westminster 10k) and at that time of night the London skyline looked amazing. A big thank you has to go to the organisers too, who couldn’t have been more helpful. I arrived late and then found out I’d left my number and race pack at home, and they gave me a replacement with no problems. Cheers!
