day 30 – your favourite song at this time last year

For my final 30 days of music pick I’ll have to cop-out again and choose two, as I think both of these were played to death by me for most of last year.

Firstly Orange Goblin’s “Red Tide Rising” – a band that have always been great, but with their Eulogy for the Damned album took their sound to a whole new level. One of the best stoner/rock bands out there.

For the other, it’s Grimes’ Oblivion. A song that I think really stands out as one of the most memorable songs of the past few years. An amalgamation of hundreds of influences you can hear througout, but a song that still feels really new and fresh and like nothing else I’ve heard.
